Some patients are bothered by the shape of the tip of their nose. It may be too rounded, too wide, crooked, split in the middle, etc. In this case reshaping of the nasal cartilage is all that is required. The incision is made on the inside of the nostrils so that no visible scar remains afterwards.
A wide, rounded nostril can be straightened by removing a wedge of skin and subcutaneous tissue at the entrance to the nostril. The scar will then be situated in the crease beside the nostril.
