Anaesthesia

At Artemedis you can choose between three types of anaesthesia:

A local anaesthetic is often preferred for smaller operations.

For more extensive operations it is necessary to be completely anaesthetised and to have an anaesthetist. It is almost always preferable to use total intravenous anaesthesia, since this allows the patient to go to sleep and wake up again in a very pleasant way.

For some major and more time-consuming operations, a traditional general anaesthetic is preferable. The anaesthetist at Artemedis has all the necessary equipment for this.
