Facial treatments

Over the years there are two changes that can clearly be seen occurring in the skin of the face: loss of elasticity and the appearance of wrinkles.

Loss of elasticity results in sagging skin. This results in deeper nasolabial folds, the appearance of the marionette line (the line at the corners of the mouth), excess skin at the angle of the jaw and excess skin on the neck. The only way to treat this is to remove the excess skin, in other words a facelift.

Wrinkles occur mainly due to use of the muscles of facial expression. Around the mouth, the best way to treat these wrinkles is to use fillers such as Restylane or Radiesse.

Frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crow's feet are caused by using the muscles of facial expression. It is therefore best to begin by reducing muscle activity with Botox treatment. If the wrinkles are still too deep after a few weeks, they can be filled up more using a filler, e.g. Restylane.

Over the years the face also loses volume. It is possible to compensate for this by adding the body's own fat tissue (Lipofilling) or using a filler such a Restylane SubQ.
